Nothing is perfect because everything can be evolved.
What is perfection, if not just a made-up concept that is always out of reach?
Right and wrong is so subjective. One person’s perfect is another’s not good enough. Everyone’s views and perceptions of life are different. We all have different beliefs. And there is no one right way of seeing things.
Perfection is defined as “the condition, state, or quality of being free or as free as possible from all flaws or defects.” I don’t know about you, but something in me is always trying to strive for perfection. But why?
Why are we conditioned to chase this state of being flawless, if it is virtually impossible? If I reach a state where I feel that I am perfect, I can assure you that somewhere out there someone will be able to pick out more flaws, based on their idea of perfection.
There is no universal definition of perfect. It is all up to interpretation, all up to who is judging perfection.
So why judge ourselves for not being perfect? Why bring ourselves down because we cannot achieve perfection? That is a misuse of our precious life force energy.
Let’s switch our perspective
Excellence is defined as “the quality of being outstanding or extremely good.”
Being extremely good at something is much easier than being someone with no flaws. Maintaining excellence in your craft sounds like something that can be done. Striving for excellence every day is possible because you can get better and better at something daily. When we put in the work, excellence can be achieved.
Excellence is something worth working towards, worth striving for. Because excellence does not mean letting go of failure. Excellence means you embrace your wrongdoings. Because what you do wrong is what brings you closer to doing it right. Like Benjamin Franklin once said, “I didn’t fail the test, I just found 100 ways to do it wrong.”
It doesn’t matter how many times you fall, as long as you keep getting back up. That is excellence. Because failure is your biggest teacher.
No extremely successful person you see in the world has gotten to where they are without failing at something.
We are human. We are meant to fail, we are meant to be ourselves and we are meant to have the freedom to discover what works for us. Even if it takes 100 wrong attempts. That is why we can never live up to perfect. And that is why we are not meant to.
Don’t take life too seriously, do what you feel you are called to, and enjoy every moment. Enjoy every single moment this beautiful life is giving you.
Enjoy the failures, and learn from them. Enjoy your successes. But most of all Enjoy the process.
We spend too much time striving to be successful to finally feel good about ourselves. But that emotion is fleeting. Because once we achieve something we already have the plan laid out for the next goal. What lasts is the process.
Life is an everlasting journey where you get to evolve into your greatest self.
But only if you choose to see it that way.
Until next time friends,
Let’s embrace excellence,
